Your vote for us on November 2nd will help the Town Council:

  • Improve Town Council oversight of spending.

  • Pursue competitive strategies for economic development and Grand List growth.

  • Unburden residential taxpayers and expand senior tax relief.

  • Promote celebrations of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Maximize state and federal funding for much-needed infrastructure improvements.

  • Prioritize funding for education.

  • Fully-staff our public safety and emergency services.

  • Ensure transparent government with access for all.

  • Explore sustainable energy options.

  • Seek out and utilize state and federal grants to their maximum benefit, ensuring infrastructure that is properly maintained and attractive to residents, visitors, investors, businesses.

  • Utilize our highly valuable Electric Division, protecting water and air quality and other natural resources, while exploring renewable energy sources.

Your 2021 Board of Education candidates

Your vote for us on November 2nd will help the Board of Education:

  • Encourage students to engage in diverse post-graduation career paths such as advanced manufacturing, CNA certification, energy management and culinary arts. 

  • Empower special needs students to successfully transition to post-high school opportunities.

  • Acknowledge the need for improved facilities and finalize comprehensive plans for investing in school buildings with the Town Council as mandated by the new state reimbursement regulations.

  • Maintain a transparent and effective budget that will address both educational goals and tax-payer concerns.

  • Expand tactics for recruitment of diverse staff to match demographics of student population

  • Promote green technology and energy efficiency in the school district.

Your 2021 Democratic Positions

Mayoral Candidates The Mayor's Office is the nucleus of Town Government and all departments are accountable to the Mayor. 
Town Council Candidates

The town council's powers are:

  • Appropriation of all funds
  • Adoption of all ordinances
  • Hold the power to purchase, sell and/or land lease or receive gifts on behalf of the Town
  • Exercise legislative oversight over boards appointed by the Town Council
Board of Education Candidates

Our Board of Education oversees our educational system


The WDTC endorses and supports local Democratic candidates, and works with the CT Democratic State Central Committee and the Democratic National Committee.
