Office sought: Town Council
What is your dream for Wallingford?
I envision a revitalized downtown that will promote small businesses and encourage more young professional people to establish residence in that area. I would like to see the town embrace technology in its business functions and be more user-friendly for residents and businesses. We should develop ways to make broadband access more affordable for all schoolchildren. I would like to develop more fruitful public-private partnerships designed to promote businesses and upgrade and beautify the transit and parking areas. I support a renovation of the Community Pool. I want to see the town promoting and participating in green energy projects.
How do we get there? We get there by listening to people from all perspectives and developing a far-ranging vision of where we want to be. Then, we develop short and long-term plans to reach our objectives with specific targets and timeframes. We need to engage with State and Federal Representatives to pursue any and all grant opportunities to improve infrastructure and develop programs to support small businesses, start-ups, as well as make housing affordable for or young people who we need to stay in town and build their lives here.
Please list some of the experience that will help us get there.Vinnie Testa Age: 61 Occupation/employer: Teacher/Lyman Hall H.S.
